I want to draw your attention to the collaborative industry/academia workshop in China, Shanghai, on the theme addressing the fields of project management and project business. I think that this workshop offers a great possibility for both individuals from industry and academia to come and provide presentations on important themes, and to meet and network with Chinese company representatives and academics that are presenting their insights on the theme. Furthermore, even if you would not have the interest or time to prepare a presentation, your participation in the workshop and discussions would be highly valued.

Tongji University in Shanghai arranges an "International Forum on Large & Complex Project Management" in collaboration with three Finnish Universities: Aalto University School of Science and Technology (former Helsinki University of Technology), University of Oulu, and Abo Akademi University. The primary goals of the event are to:
Network & develop new relationships between academics and practitioners representing multiple international arenas of business and science Share and discuss most recent research results from academia and leading insights from industry executives
In addition to your presentation (based on your expression about your willingness to present, see above), also other leading practitioners and academics are invited to deliver keynote presentations during the course of the event. The event also includes workshops/roundtables during which selected issues related to managing large-scale projects and programmes will be focused on in detail in an interactive manner. As a key purpose of the forum is to develop relationships between individuals and firms, there is an active social programme, including e.g. a visit to the Expo 2010 site and to Shanghai's water villages.
Organizer in charge is professor Le Yun (Tongji University), who organizes workshop in collaboration with three Finnish Universities: Aalto University (professor Karlos Artto), University of Oulu (professor Jaakko Kujala), and Abo Akademi University (professor Kim Wikstrom). Invited persons include leading academics working with topics such as project and programme management and project business, large complex projects and systems, and inter-firm projects and industry executives representing firms in the frontline of project management across the globe. The seminar (excluding accommodation) is free of charge for participants and is held in the Tongji University campus area.
